Aion Vision
Written by estemy

Hey guys!

Apparently the folks at NcSoft have been working on some very nifty Aion updates. The following is still stricktly hush-hush (as in only a vision not a certain upgrade), but still quite interesting to view in my opinion. what I picked out of the video myself were: wolfpack polymorph, summons for raiding (like l2 dwarves), pets, mounts (even mob mounts), new skills and improved graphics. As the game is already quite hard to run I bet this includes a new investment upon a graphx card, hehee. Nonetheless, here it is. Watch and enjoy the aion vision:

P.S. The Korean gaming convention G-Star is held from Nov 26.-29.! We can expect more cool videos from there soon.

New European servers launched!

Official news release:

A careful flow of new servers over the past couple of days in order to provide more options to old and new players alike. Join us today in welcoming two shiny new European servers to our growing family.

The first of the two newcomers is French language [FRA]Deltras, named after the renowned Storm Legion’s Centurion himself. The Storm Legion was the first to explore the Abyss, and its members were the first of Elyseans to discover the Asmodians.

Second out is English language [ENG]Kahrun. A famous legend from the world of Atreia tells of two Empyrean Lords falling in love with each other – against the will of Aion. Kahrun was their child. The legend was never meant to be told, leaving Kahrun’s name engulfed in a mist of secrets and uncertainty. Make sure to play through Aion’s many quests and take part of their intricate storylines to find out more.

The ability to transfer your characters from one server to another is a feature we are working on, but it is not ready for implementation yet. We are hoping to introduce character transfers in a couple of months’ time.

Aion Producer Brian Knox on Open Beta

Hello!

Welcome to the Open Beta Test for Aion in both Europe and North America.

Below you will find a list of the major changes and additions to Aion since you last participated in our Closed Beta Test. We have done our best to provide a comprehensive list of changes. The Open Beta brings the game content up to the 1.5 patch that is available in Korea; the same updates that were made to the Korean live servers are being implemented here, as well. While there may be some differences when comparing the official NA/EU notes to fan site translations of Korea's official notes, the game content is the same.

Not only does Open Beta bring a number of game improvements and additions, you'll also notice that we had a major terminology overhaul to complete our effort of Westernizing the game. Many skills and items have changed since the Closed Beta Test and should be a welcome surprise as you explore the world.

While we feel the Open Beta version will provide a complete experience, we wanted to note that this is not our final update before launch. Our launch version is in internal testing, and it will continue to flesh out the 1.5 update with the help of your feedback and experiences in Open Beta.

Find the full list with beta patch notes on our forum HERE (click)

Next Korean Patch
Wednesday, 01 April 2009 10:51

Here is a little preview trailer of the upcoming Korean patch. Rumor has it that its main focus will be on Balaur (the third NPC race) and after watching this video I really wish I could play a dragon instead of Elyos/Asmodian character. The video doesn't actually show the Balaur main boss (only his shadow), but the way Colossus gets beaten up by his fire is impressive indeed.
Oh, and since it is still the April Fools Day a little something extra only visible today! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICuqGPlY4r0&flip=1

Aion Armor Improvements
Sunday, 22 March 2009 15:23

By: Ayase, European Community Representative of Aion;

Improving and developing your character is an absolutely vital part of almost any MMORPG. In Aion however, it’s very important to us that improvements are not just slightly altered numbers on a stats page, but can actually be seen in the physical appearance of your character. Clothes make the man, and - as you will come to see in some of our pictures later on - the woman too! Those of you who were able to play Aion at the Games Convention in August 2008 wouldn’t have been aware of it, but as you were playing away, Atreia’s diligent fashion designers were hard at work, slaving away to ensure their upcoming winter collections were as stylish as possible! Back then it was not considered out of the ordinary to encounter differently named armour sets with identical looks; those were of course mere placeholders for sets still being designed. It is now time to lift the curtain and give you a quick peek at some of the stunning armour sets you can expect to see in Aion when it launches later this year! Before we start, it may be worth pointing out that there are far more armour sets available throughout the game than the few we will be showing you here in this article. The sets on show here are a simple snapshot of the differing designs you’ll find throughout Atreia once Aion goes live. So, Say “hello” to our model for the day! She is a female Ranger, the proud owner of four different named armour sets in her simple Elyos wardrobe. However, something was not quite right: last Summer, as she explored the beautiful lands of Elysea, her armour sets all looked the same! Where was the style, the panache, the flair for which the Elyos are so known?

Aion: The Lore Continues...
Saturday, 21 March 2009 19:44

The guys over at IGN posted the next part of their Aion Lore recap (and ofcourse we're covering it ;) )!

Now with a video: The Ishalgen Zone Tour (in high quality!)

Part 2: The Millennium War

The twelve Empyrean Lords, who Aion appointed to protect the world of Atreia and its inhabitants, fought bravely against the Balaur oppressors for years. Appearing as winged and luminescent beings, the Empyrean Lords were admired and worshipped by the Humans for their bravery and unflinching loyalty to preserving life and a reverence to Aion. The two leaders of the Empyrean Lords - Siel and Israphel - assumed guardianship of the Tower of Eternity. While dissimilar in thought and character, Siel and Israphel united in defense of the Tower.
