Currently there are 4 types of Armor: Leather, Chain, Plate, and Robes.  
  A complete armor set consists of five parts: upper body armor, lower body armor, shoulder pads, gloves & boots.

Each type of armor has its own special attributes making it more suitable for certain classes then others.

When strengening an armor item with 1, the pdef increases with the following value: Note: strengening does NOT increase mdef!

  Robes are the mage armor type. It has the lowest defense of all armor types, but has the highest magical and shield defense. Robes are often preferred by the School of Mages. Robe armor gives additional Spi and Con attributes.

A shield increases defence and has the chance of blocking enemy's attack (perfect block). if you succesfully block an attack, you can use certain special skills based on your class (Warrior, Gladiator, Templar, Cleric, Chanter)
Note: you are able to craft a shield when u have learned the skill that is requiered to craft Plate Mail armor.

  Leather is the light armor type. It has higher defense than Robes but still less than Chain armor. Leather armor has weak magical defense but compensates with good shield defense and increases to dodging attributes. Due to this, Leather armors are often favored by the School of Scouts.

A shield increases defence and has the chance of blocking enemy's attack (perfect block). if you succesfully block an attack, you can use certain special skills based on your class (Warrior, Gladiator, Templar, Cleric, Chanter)

  Chain is the medium type of armor. It has higher defense than Leather armor, but still less than Plate armor. Chain armor has weak magical defense, like leather armor, but also has lower shield defense than leather armor. Chain armors are often used by both the School of Scouts and the School of Priests because of its defensive capabilities. Chain armor gives additional Con attributes.

A shield increases defence and has the chance of blocking enemy's attack (perfect block). if you succesfully block an attack, you can use certain special skills based on your class (Warrior, Gladiator, Templar, Cleric, Chanter)
