A Shadow Weapon is a special weapon made in cooperation between Ivory Tower and the Black Anvil Guild following the signing of the Giran Treaty. It is created by magically projecting the power of a weapon onto another catalytic object. It can only be used while the magical charge remains. Because of that, it can be purchased at a significantly lower price than the normal weapon.

Also, it's performance is no different than if you used the original weapon, except that it cannot possess the special abilities such as absorbing souls or be augmented through a Life Stone.

The weapon can only act as a true weapon when a proper adventurer holds it. In other words, if it is not equipped, it's magic is not absorbed. When its magic is fully depleted, the object turns to dust. To preserve the weapon for as long as possible, you should only use it when absolutely necessary. Projectile weapons will not be sold to unqualified users, so be careful to purchase only what is appropriate for your level.

Additionally, it cannot be sold, since it is impossible for anyone but the weapon's owner to determine how much magic power is left on it. The weapons are difficult to price as a result, so don't forget that no store will purchase this Shadow Weapon.

From the weapons trader the weapons do last a longer time then from anywhere else.

If you get them from any of grand magisters (at the end of your 2nd class change) they only last 90 mana/minutes. These weapons you can only get from Shadow Weapon Certificates.

Equipping them and unequipping them a number of times will deplete the magic faster then normal as well as logging in and out more then normal.

This article contains in indepth analysis of the lineage II augmentation system and should take away all confusion about augmentating weapons. The Article was originally posted at lineage2.gametsg.com on April the 27th of 2007.

Where?
All towns except for starter towns and Gludin

Augmentation Materials:
Augment (Weapon, Life Stone, Gemstones)

Weapon:
• Grade C ~ S Weapon X1
• Special weapons such as hero weapons, blood sword etc cannot be augmented
• Augmentation is not related to soul crystals, any weapons that’s got SA can be augmented as well
• After Augmentation, weapon can not be traded, dropped
• After Augmentation, weapon can not be stored in guild warehouse, nor can it be sent to your other characters by using the warehouse, this can only be stored in the character’s personal warehouse
• After Augmentation, the weapon can not be traded with NPC, nor can be traded with blacksmith for a higher grade weapon, nor can be combined into a dual sword
• Augmentation can be cancelled, but it requires more $$$

Life Stone:
• Only requires 1
• There are 4 types of Life Stones (normal, medium grade, high grade, Top grade)
• Life Stones can be found in 10 different levels (46, 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 68, 70, 76)
• Life Stone (type) affects the looks of the weapon after Augmentation
• Life Stone (level) affects weapon abilities and by how much after Augmentation, this is also limited by the Life Stone level.
• Life Stones can now be obtained through mob hunting.

Gemstones
• S Grade Weapon – requires 25 C Grade gemstones
• A Grade Weapon – requires 20 C Grade gemstones
• B Grade Weapon – requires 30 D Grade gemstones
• C Grade Weapon – requires 20 D Grade gemstones

Augmentation Results:
• The ability Augmentation adds to a weapon depends on the Life Stone level and weapon leve
• Augmentation results (through scarcity of the Life Stone) into 4 different colors. (probability depends on the Korean Testing Server + Taiwan Testing Server)

The word on the streets is that any well-informed, practical archer would take an over-enchanted B Grade Bow of Peril over a A Grade Soul Bow anyday.
The reasoning behind this presumption is that the Soul Bow is a yumi - meaning its attack speed is 'Very Slow' as opposed to a BoP which has a 'Slow' attack speed.

This test was done with the following equipment:

Soul Bow w/ Cheap Shot
PAttack: 528
MAttack: 125
Attack Speed: Very Slow
Soulshot Load: x2
Sps Load: x1
Weight: 1660
SA Desc:
MP use reduced to 2 at a 38% rate.
Increased damage during PvP.

+5 BoP w/ Cheap Shot
PAttack: 442
MAttack: 120
Attack Speed: Slow
SS Load: x3
SPS Load: 1
Weight: 1700
SA Desc:
MP use reduced to 2 at a 42% rate

S80 Sets
The Chaotic Throne introduces a new armor and weapon grade named the Dynasty Set and is considered S80 Grade. S80 gear is S grade armor and weapons usable by characters level 76-80 though only level 80 Player Characters can get the Shoulder Pad Bonuses.

Check out the details at Lineage II Database - Armors & Weapons!

Atributes
An Attribute System has been added in CT1.
You can view your attributes on your character info screen.

Each attribute has an opposite, as follows:

  • Fire Attribute <=> Water Attribute
  • Earth Attribute <=> Wind Attribute
  • Dark Attribute <=> Divine Attribute

See Lineage II Database - Armors & Weapons for the full article!

Subclass Skill Tree
When your subclass is level 75 depending on what the arch type it is you will only be able to pick class skills based on that archtype. Eg. If you level a Titan to 75 when you talk to the npc and you "redeem" your subclass for the new bonuses you can only pick from Warrior Passive and trigger skills.
